E85 Less cold start tick

So I filled up with E85 about 2 weeks ago and have noticed that the truck does not have the cold start tick or tap as bad as it did on 87. Some mornings it sounded really bad on 87 but on E85 it is extremely reduced or non existent on every start. I know at this point its not a coincidence as I haven't had any loud ticks on start up since i've been running it. Could this have something to do with the issue that every 5.3 ive ever known has? Anybody else noticed this to be true?

With my truck just passing 120k, it does not have any cold start ticking.  The last time I ran E85 though, a bad cat code was thrown and did not clear until the next fill up with 93.  E85 where I live has been pretty inconsistent, I hesitate to run it again.

My truck has 124 and it still does it. 93 octane may have something to do with it as well. I'm guessing higher octane helps with the tick for whatever reason

Could it be an injector then?  After I wrote this, my buddy gave me two 6 ounce bottles of Super Tech Concentrated Fuel Injector and Carburetor Cleaner and we dumped them into my tank as mileage has been in the 12s for city driving.  Topped off and averaged  over 18 mpg on the way home, city driving, and over 14 after idling for thirty minutes.  He tells me they are less than a dollar at Walmart.  He uses them in his Duramax.

I would assume that it could be an injector. Question is why would e85 make it tick less.
