Car insurance covers vehicles with open recalls?

Just wondering if car insurance companies still cover you if you have an open recall? I havent done the seat belt recall yet

Absolutely. Why wouldn’t they? If that was the case, thousands of vehicles tight now wouldn’t have coverage and the insurance companies would have to run checks on vin numbers constantly to see when a recall was in affect for that vehicle.
