How do I know what year my 5.3 is

I was told I bought a 2006 5.3 engine harness and trans but notice the stickers all looked to be scratch off is there another way I have the fuse box and computer and trans has some numbers and subjection

What's the VIN on the block?  Which computer does it have?  Is the block aluminum or cast iron?

Thanks it is 2006 5.3 looked up trans and block then stared to tear it apart
