Body Lift vs. Suspension lift

I am trying to figure out what to do, but need some real advice. Should I get a 4" body lift with BFG A/T 315's or a suspension lift with 315's. I don't do a lot of offroading or get into deep mud/sand, but do want to get my truck up in the air a little more for better control and rush when i do go. Thanks for the advice!

But if I were to go with a body lift of only a couple inches with larger tires, wouldn't I still have decent control since I am not changing my suspension or steering set-up?

Yes, the body lift would have less impact on your control, since you are moving less of the weight upward. In other words, the body lift will not affect your center of gravity as much as the suspension lift would.

Yeah, you are correct. The Bodylift will effect your ride quality less than the suspension lift. Your Center of Gravity will not change as much as with a suspension lift. I just finished putting on a 3" Performance Acc. Bodylift and I'm very pleased with the results. But I do not go offroading at all in this truck, I've got ATV's that I ride on. The most offroad mine sees is the trails on the farm. A Bodylift will not really lift your frame at all, only the bigger tires will, which from the size you mentioned will be about 2" over stock height (4" in tire increase, but 2" above and 2" below rim). A suspension lift on the other hand will lift both frame and body up, along with bigger tires. But the difference in cost is a lot. About $1K, if not more. Bodylifts can look bad, especially if you don't "finish" them out after the lift. But a bodylift done right should not look any different from a suspension lift. There are many here who have done bodylift the right way, check out their pics of their rides, mine are in my webshot address below. It basically comes down to how much $$ you want to spend. Plus 315's might be pushing it with a Bodylift. 305's might be as big as you can go, depending on your rims. Chris
