AC Issues have seriously escalated after today's experience

So we have all had the plagued compressor failure that these trucks are known for, but today was different. My truck has gone in 4 times since ownership for AC Issues but today scared the hell out of me. Scared me so bad I am going to explore replacement vehicles. So I remote started my truck while I was leaving the house to go run an errand, nothing out of the ordinary. When I opened my truck, I was greeted with a cabin full of smoke and this horrid smell of something burning. I immediately thought that it was my stereo equipment that somehow shorted out and didnt trip the fuse. I quickly shut the truck and started to look for the source but that burning smell is so overwhelming, I could not pinpoint where it was coming from. Finally, I decided to turn the truck back on and try and see what was NOT working. Well, turns out the ac won't turn on, at all. I pulled the glove compartment and low and behold, that smell was very noticeable back there. Tearing it down some more, the blower motor was very hot. It is going to the dealership tomorrow but it looks like the blower motor locked up and there was nothing in place to prevent it from burning out. The only thing I could think of is if this would have happened with my mom driving, or my sister, what if it had actually caught something on fire and the kids were in the car. The truck was only on for 30 seconds and that was enough time to completely fill the truck with smoke and an unbearble fume. I'm really curious if anyone has experienced this. Truck is going to the dealership tomorrow and I will only take it back to remove my lift and modifications but I will be trading it in after that. This was too much of an escalation for an ongoing AC issue and the risk for something like what happened today to happen again with anyone but me driving, is not something I'm willing to gamble. Please Let me know if anyone has experienced this.

Thanks
