What a drain, 2.5 amps

'07 Chev Silverado is at repair shop. A few days back battery was dead. Jumped and ran errands then next day repeat.

Noticed DRL-low beam not working, HB OK. Took him in, replaced battery-2 low beam lamps. Next day dead battery.

Back to garage.....trouble shoot. *2.5 A drain after ALL fuses pulled in driver door FB and under hood FB. 

One step closer....when handles disengaged at U/H-FB, and board slightly lifted (disconnects main pwr.) 2.5A flow now "0".

When reinserted/clamped in, 4.7A slowly lowers to 2.5A, then steady.

Looking for input, searched blogs......etc.

Anyone know any history for DRL problems? I stay here as had both LB lamps replaced and still working.

GM trucks have been known to have battery drains due to the gauge cluster. This "can" happen due to corrosion in the Solder that was used to replace "Lead" solder on the circuit board.

 Pull out the cluster and test it over night is one of my first things to do.

 Next would be try it again with the BCM removed.

 Chances are pretty good that it is in one of those two places.

ps. This is a 3/4 t. and 1t forum thread, and I am certain that the 1/2 t. trucks had a much different wiring harness under the hood. The cooling fans and wiring are much different, so they may be a place to look
