I have a 2012 Silverado, V-6, and there is a problem code of "engine hot / A/C is turned off" also the temp gauge is at 160* and never goes higher. Any ideas? Thx, Tom

There must be a second sensor on there that isn't reading properly. Used to be 2 sensors on FI vehicles - one for the ECU, and one for the gauge. Thought they were combined these days, but maybe not on a '12.

 

Something to look into at least.

Sounds like this happened at the just about the right time (you have to be optimistic). 5-6 year old truck time to do a flush and change the antifreeze. Usually when you get that code a thermostat and sending unit takes care of the problem. And what a better time to do it.   Good Luck
