Locking steering column question

I have an 02 silverado and the column doesnt lock in it.

what years had a locking steering column, and is this something that can be retrofitted in?

99 - 2006 steering columns did not lock. 

 

As far as retrofitting one in... Sure, I put a 2016 steering column in a 1985 C-10...

It's not just gonna bolt right on. You are going to have to fabricate. If you don't have the means to do stuff like that, it's not worth the time or effort.
