1995 c1500 payload?

At most it will be a touch over 2000 lbs; with 4x4 it will be about 400 lbs less. Then subtract all the weight of any options over an absolute base vehicle.

A better way is, get it weighted at a scale with just you and a tank of gas, look up the GVWR on the door sticker and subtract this weight to get a true payload.

Load it down till it touches the bump stops and then be done. Your spring rate will be conservative so you frame and axle and truck will be fine.

CB...Just happen to have a 95 spec guide handy. 2wd right? x-cab

It sez 2079 lbs for fleetside short box.

1849 lbs. for long box.

NOTE: It sez base payload computed by subtracting curb weight

from GVWR.

Payload ratings are based on engineering test weights at the time

of printing.

Thanks all.

I was looking at buying an older truck camper that weighs 2400 pounds. (They made stuff solid in the 70's) It seems to me that I would need a 3/4 or 1 ton for that much weight. :jester: ...Unless I went by BDBWTE's theory. :seeya:

Guess I'll stear clear of that camper and wait until I can afford a newer, lighter one.

I wouldn't put anything but a very light camper on a 1500. The suspensions just aren't up to snuff with rear spring rates and anti-sway bars. It will handle terrible with 2400 lbs moving the center of gravity up and back.
