Transmission Failure

I have a 2012 Sierra with 80,000 miles, very well maintained. I recently, three weeks ago had to rebuild the transmission due to complete failure, first the torque converter, which took out the pump, then the clutches.. etc. GM has been absolutely no help.. very poor customer service to say the least

That's an interesting first post. Not a question in it but a good lengthy complaint. Let's see it there is water to be held.

Define 'well maintained' as it applies to the transmission? Speak a bit about how it is used. Maintenance and use are not the same thing. Lastly, what warranty, if any, is/was in force?

"Well maintained" as in proper fluid changes, greasing, etc as GM recommends. Truck is not used for off-road or a work truck. It pulls an 18ft bass boat on occasion. Warranty - just up on the year and fails 20,000 miles before the 100,000.

Definitely sucks, but out of warranty is out of warranty.  Yes I'd be pissed as well.  And the manufacturers now a days could care less if you go to some other brand.  Loyalty means nothing to companies these days.  Even the ones we work for.

You don't want to hear this but a warranty is what it is. 16K a year is a bit above average. You ever monitor you trans temperature? When you changed it at 45K what fluid and filter did you use? That many miles it looks like you do a fair bit of highway driving. May I ask what you feel your day in day out highway speed is? Your tag doesn't indicate your location which would say something about terrain and temperatures. None of this helps this time but...what can you learn from it? I mean besides GM sucks.

All that said. Some years ago Honda put a new motor in the wife's Civic with 63K on a 60K warranty after I reminded them it was the third Civic in a row and there being a fourth depended on their response to a reasonable request. The regional manager agreed although the local garage did not. Still have that Honda. It's my salt car.
