Using a Clay bar

Will a clay bar remove water spots? Have a burgundy 2000 Silverado. From a few feet awy it looks great, but, get close and I can see water spots.

I use Meguires clay bar from the local Autozone. Works like a champ.

It removed overspray from my truck....He!!, waterspots shouldn't be any problem.

I have no idea. I bought it more than a year ago, and since then I have just bought the "detailer" that you use with it.

I would venture a guess of less than 15 smackers for the clay bar, and a bottle of detailer.

How about for removing splated bugs? I've got more bug guts on the front of my truck then you can shake a stick at....... Need to get them off...

BPurchased a claybar at Autozone today. They did not have the mequires brand. This was something like "blue clay". came with bar and 1 bottle of lube for 10 bucks. It seems to work, but ihad to do some areas 3 times for it to look like it was working. I plan on doing some more later, I just worked on the hood today since it was the worst.

I wouldn't use a claybar for bugs. They would stick in the clay, and thats not good....Gross too.

Use a bug/tar remover. Bug-Be-Gone Goo-Be-Gone...Something like that.

Or you can try one of those net looking sponges to get the bugs off. Meguire's Car Wash works really well to get tar and bugs off. But it's no comparison to the clay bar. I use the Mothers one. I was about $20 at Pep Boys. Only bad thing is the detailer smelles like "Big Red" gum, and I freakin HATE that sh!t! What does the meguire's smell like?
