We were home on leave last week and did a little riding close to the house. One place was way back in the sticks where we used to go riding when I was under and lived at home. It had been 12 years since I had been there, and the first time J.T. had ever got to go. A seemingly endless number of creek crossings and up and down the mountains. It brought back a lot of old memories. J.T. loved it and said it was way better than the riding in SC. :D

The other place was near Beckly,WV. SilveradoWV, does this look like the place where we had talked about riding before? A friend of Elwood's took us over there one day. At one point, we ended up on the hill behind the long shopping center where Hills is at. We were actually behind the dealership on the other end of it.

Hillhound, we didn't get to go riding at Hatfield/McCoy. Just didn't have the time. I'll get there someday though.

Here's the links and a preview of a couple of my favorite pics.

Oh man, I wish I was near there! I would have taken the Blazer all up and down those trails (the Blazer is 2WD...but a lead foot and a 4.3 can take you places  ).

Man that looks like some down & dirty fun! Looks like a good time was had by all!

Hell yeah!

By the way paco, me and my son's quads are only 2wd, but we were able to go through almost all the holes the other two guys did. There were a few places my son have a little trouble bottoming out. Heck, he's only got like 4 inches of ground clearance. :D There were a few it didn't even try, because they were DEEP and thick. Like this one: As a matter of fact, Pat's the only one who tried that one.

Good camera work Tom! Looks like your son enjoyed himself. No shortage of mud this year with all the rain we've had.

Was at Hatfield/McCoy last week-we're really getting our $$ worth out of the passes this summer. I ripped the belt housing intake off the Kodiak on that trip so I had to stay out of deep mud but it's fixed now. We just bought a new Honda Foreman 450 so now I want to put my winch on that one. That'll give me something ot do on a rainy weekend. Or maybe I'll just ride in the rain.

Thanks, he sure did enjoy it. We can't wait to go again.

That was the weekend (Saturday) we came back down to SC. I'll make it up there sometime. :D The good thing is even though I live in SC, I'm still legally a resident of WV because I'm in the military, so I can get the WV resident price for the passes.

Is that a Snorkel or what on the front of that one ATV, looks like a he might have a clothes dryer under there and thats the dryer vent? Also where is this near Beckley? Is it open to the public??

Yes, it's a home-made snorkel. I don't know the a lot of the details of it, but I know it was a solid axle 4x4 Honda TRX350 that didn't have the gas tank up top where they normally are, so Pat was able to run some PVC pipe through there. He has a conical K&N on top of it, and the cover was just a simple butter bowl, or something similar. I can't remember if he said it was an '85 or '86, but I think he said it was the first year Honda made a 4x4.

Do you know where the Sunoco station is right before the Beckly exit, whe going south on US19? We parked straight across 19 from there, and rode some trails back through there. There were plenty of them. Pat said they go back there all the time, so I guess no one has a problem with it.

    • Still looks like a rivet to me in the pics, I don't see a nut and none of the pics show the head of the screw. But if you says so.....
    • Thanks for all the help so far!   I did try right from 2026 right down to 2021, and only from 2023 down lets me select the option for tire psi change, but I get the vehicle not supported error!   I'll definitely try it under Chevrolet after work today, and I'll get the sensor number from gm for my truck tire sensors. And I'll let you know if it works for me under Chevrolet!   And if that doesn't work, I'm going to guess that what @Atlas said about maybe I have a different body control module could be true!
    • From where I'm sitting this sounds like a compatibility problem. I'm assuming the 2007 was a 900-series truck, and not an 800-series (they were sold side-by-side in dealerships that model year), since it starts and runs.   This is why I HATE post-2006 vehicles. Everything becomes a huge problem when you try to keep the thing running for longer than the manufacturer has designed it to.    I can't remember when Global-A architecture started - either '10 or '11. For your sake, you had better hope it's '11, or you're going to be spending some BIG money to correct this cluster-eff. That's something you need to find out before doing anything else. You may have several computers bricked ... but the fact that it runs tells me you MIGHT be ok here.     EDIT: Just did a quick refresher. You're screwed. This is Global-A. The 2 systems are NOT compatible in the slightest. Once you get the correct engine in there that IS compatible, you're going to need to see how many computers are locked. Absolute NIGHTMARE to straighten out, too. Your buddy might be better off cutting his losses and finding something else.   Welcome to post-2006 vehicle electronics. This is why I quit the industry, and drive nothing built after 1994. This stuff takes all the fun out of wrenching!

    • True, hard to say what differences there may or may not be between Chev and GM as well as a production year or mid year part change either.    I just found it odd that under the Sierra choice on the Autel that many of the last few years of production year did not include the choice of changing the tire pressure but if that is an Autel thing or a GM thing as to why the choices were not there. Knowing what tpms sensors are on the truck should give some guidance into which choices on the tool even make sense to try as I wouldn't give up just yet with the tool but I guess he will see what if anything he comes up with if he finds out a bit more info and tries a few more things on the Autel.
