Lug nut rust

I thought I saw a similar topic on here at one point but can't seem to find it.  I noticed today a good amount of rust on the lugs of my 2015 Sierra when torquing my wheels today.  I'm about 5000 miles away from the expiration of my bumper-to-bumper warranty.  Is this something the dealership would replace?  I could probably just get another set off eBay for $60.  Two Vermont winters already proving harsh on her.

Johnny01: I would see if the dealership would replace them, IF not I would purchase a set of US made lugs.If they are rusting on the outside, It's probably because they were removed and installed with a impact wrench.I never use one. I always use a braker bar to take them off and a torque wrench to install them. All dealerships and shops that replace tires use impact wrenches. They often over torque them damaging them causing them to rust.And salt doesn't help.

If your truck has been to the dealer for service that requires the removal of wheels, then you can even argue that they used the impact gun which will result in this.

Only shop i seen that doesn't use the impact was Dunn Tire in my area, they actually installed the lugs by hand and then used the TQ wrench, i was impressed! 

 

If all fails, def get OEM lugs vs cheaper chinese made.
