Brake Light Switch

The Cruise Control wouldn't engage on my 2010 Silverado, so I replaced the Brake Light Switch.  That fixed the Cruise Control, but now I'm having problems with the brakes.  When I press the brake, it feels like the whole truck shudders for a moment and then it stops.  Other times when I press the brake and then release it, it will shudder for a moment and my foot isn't even on the brake.  It's as if the brakes are engaging and then releasing very quickly.

I know how it feels when the ABS kicks in, but this is something completely different.  There have been a couple times, only while driving on the highway , I'll get a message saying 'Service Brakes Soon'.  I've checked the brake fluid level, and it's at Max.  None of these problems existed until after I replaced the Brake Light Switch.  I took my truck to the Service Department and they couldn't find anything wrong with the brakes.

Could the Brake Light Switch be causing these problems?

Sounds like there's an issue with the EBCM (Electronic Brake Control Module). If power was fed through the switch wires during testing, it may have fried a driver in the module. That said, it could just be a coincidental failure.

Also, keep in mind that without being there to feel what the brakes are actually doing, makes it tough to diagnose over the net.

That makes more sense than it being the Brake Light Switch.  Thank you.
