PASSENGER DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR

Recommended Posts

1999 Silverador 2500 LS with power door locks.  Passenger side door lock actuator will "lock" from key fob, driver's side button, passenger side button.  Will not "unlock" with any of these three controls.  Driver's side actuator locks and unlocks from all three controls.  I would like to know the terminals or wire colors in both the driver's side and passenger side buttons so I can jumper....without taking all of the door trim apart to get to the actual actuator.  I am trying to trouble shoot whether the actuator is bad or just a broken wire somewhere.  Thanks for any help.

but those wires would be running together outta the door boot or kick panel where ever you want to test them. the door trim is pretty easy to come off, but i have done it plenty of times

MUCH LATER.....I finally determined that the latch mechanism was bad.  After I replaced it, the UNLOCK would still not work.  I traced wires, checked fuses, traded the LOCK and UNLOCK relay positions in the fuse block with no change.  I then discovered the "third relay" and exchanged it with the first.  Everything now works properly!!!  Who knows why?  Could be a dirty connection in the UNLOCK relay socket?
