99 jimmy runs rough with ac on

99 Jimmy with 55000kms. When driving on highway with ac on it runs like crap.

There is an initial surge when I turn on the ac (which I think is normal) but then it just continues surging constantly.

Andy kinda voltage drops or anything noted on the guages when you turn the ac on?

Just out of curiousity do you have a 4.3 or a 2.5. I know that the drag of the compressor can slow your motor down a little but it shouldn't be noticable. Make sure your compressor is full of lube and makesure it's not locking up.
