Dealer Pricing

Can anyone provide an idea of what dealers where dealers (relative to invoice and before rebates) are willing to accept an offer on a 2003 Suburban. Is the Edmunds TMV realistic or can you actually get it below dealer invoice at this point in the model year? I am looking at a 2003 K2500 Suburban. Thanks.

Ask them for their invoice on the truck you are looking at. If they refuse, tell them there are plenty of other dealers that want to move vehicles and just walk out.

You should have no problem at all with the offer of their invoice then minus all GM incentives. If you are aggressive you could start with invoice minus $500 then the incentives. Most dealers would rather "throw" in stuff then discount the vehicles. So like the Suburban, at the end of the 2002 model year GM was giving Tahoe/Suburban buyers a free DVD entertainment system. The dealer probably still has a couple of those in stock and has never able to get rid of them, so ask for it at no charge installed. Maybe you want bug deflectors or whatever, ask for it. Worst they could do is say no. You have to decide when it's a fair deal for you.

I just got home from a dealer in my area. I'm looking at the Sub also. Salesman quoted me Invoice minus $250 on any 2003 on their lot. I get all rebates etc. He showed me an invoice. Told me they have $3,000 off (or 0% up to 60 months) for the 2003's. He also told me that he can get me another $500 off for "competitive" something or other (I drive a Dodge now). It you drive a GM product, they have some money for "loyalty" also. Therefore, Invoice minus $3750 on any truck on the lot.

I just picked up a YukonXL 2003. The rebates were:

$3000 off YukonXL models for month of July

$500 off for GM loyalty; I have Sierra

$500 off for GM conquest; I traded in a Toyota Siena

$500 off for GM employees relatives; He wanted to move the car before end of the month so he signed me up as his brother!!

Total rebastes = $4500...

This is with $500 below invoice. They really wanted to move the cars off the lot...

Just saw a TV ad this evening GM giving $4000 rebate AND 0%/60 months on in stock 2003's. That's not the dealer so, get to dealer invoice plus any other deals you want then top it all off with the GM rebate and financing. I think there still maybe an over $2000 rebate on the Quadrasteer option.
