Air Conditioning

Recommended Posts

My 2005 Silverado air conditioning will start blowing warm air out of one side of it.  If I stop the truck and turn it off and wait a few minutes, then I can turn it back on and get cool air.  Does anyone know of a fix for this?

Blend door actuator. If the driver's blows warm, the actuator is on the passenger side, above the transmission tunnel hump. If other problem post back with more info

You can try this first, might fix it for a bit but will probably come back.

You might try the HVAC re-calibration procedure:

Remove the HVAC/ECAS fuse for a minimum of 10 seconds. Or disconnect battery

Re-install the HVAC/ECAS fuse

Turn key on, but do not start. Make no adjustments to HVAC controls at this time

Wait 40 seconds to one minute for the HVAC control module and actuators to re-calibrate.

I've always had the best luck at this point by turning key off. Removing key. Open and close the door. (Signals the BCM of a completed driving cycle)

Then, start and drive. See how things work. As i stated it will probably still require actuator replacement.

AC Delco part # for right side floor- controls drivers side:  1572971

Link to complete actuator listings for reference.

You can purchase the part(s) from Rockauto, Amazon or local parts dealers
