05 Suburban won't crank, speakers popping, etc

Hi, hoping someone might have some insight on my problem:

2005 Suburban, 140k miles, stock

Truck ran fine previously with no signs of problems.

Went to start it last night and got all kinds of noise coming from dash, speakers, lights flickering, and would not crank. Basically sounds like an arc welder in my truck. I initially thought that it may be the battery so I put a charger on it and as soon as you turn the key the above symptoms occur. However, the lights were dim until the charger was connected so there might be an issue there as well.

I removed the battery and connected charger directly to truck and symptoms repeat.

I disconnected ignition switch and still have speaker noise when charger/ battery connected. So I don't believe it is the switch.

Since I can't start the truck I can't check the alternator charging or much else.

All the battery connections appear to be in good shape and nothing is loose. Truck has never been in an accident and it has always been a Southern truck and has no signs of corrosion.

not sure what to do next?..

thanks

I had a weird issue like this with my 2008 Silverado. I couldn’t figure it out so I eventually took it to the dealer. The battery tested fine and my grounds all looked good. The leads and connections looked fine no corrosion. Oddly enough they replaced the leads and it solved all of my issues

I'm starting to trace all the cables now and see is I can maybe find something as my gut says there is a bad cable somewhere. I'm pretty good but not an expert and I've never had to tow a car into a shop yet, however this may be the first.
