2017 8 Speed transmission clunks

Hi guys,  I'm a newbie and this is my first post.  I am tremendously disappointed with my 2017 Silverado High Country  8 speed

5.3. 12,000 mi. as I am suffering from the notorious  "transmission clunk"  it occurs mostly on downshifting coming to a stop sometimes

feeling like I have been rear ended, other times it seems to be hunting for the right gear to be in. Original selling dealer was absolutely no help, said  "performing as designed". Second dealer has been very helpful, did a re-learn which helped for about a week, then back to the clunking again!!

How can GM ignore this issue when so many have it and the dealers know its a problem?  Also how can GM  STILL  be putting this transmission

in the new 2019 models with them having this problem?  I have seen on a GM page that the 8 speed transmissions being put in the 2019's has been enhanced. We should have these enhancements available to us!!

My truck was a bit under $60,000, the truck (I thought ) of my dreams. Now I am beginning to not to want to drive it and have gone back to my 2005 Tahoe on a daily basis, it still drives like a dream.

I presently own  5  Chevys and this luxury truck is so far the worst one in the bunch.

Does anyone know of a fix in the pipeline? Can't believe they are not working on something. Cant be putting them in the new trucks when this problem

has not been addressed. Talked with a Cadillac dealer in Nashville to see if the almost $100,000 Escalades do this, said they had seen a new TSB

but it only pertained to Cadillacs.

Sorry for the long post just needed to vent, and hope our trucks can be fixed so the will drive like they should. Other than this annoying issue

its a great vehicle.

Thanks for listening,

Bill

This a typical GM gear behavior , I had this in my 2011 Camaro and 15 corvette and my current 18 Sierra . They even changed the full gear in the corvette ( after one thousand KM ) and yet it is the same , used to do the re learning and it will disappear for like a week and then came back !!
