2019 Denali Park assist intermittently gives multiple false alerts in very cold weather.  It's even worse after washing. One day the Park Assist kept shutting down in spite of main setting menu being set "on".   Dealer checked and said no problem- asked me if it displayed and error code .Service adviser was a bit impatient, said he wouldn't throw parts at the problem and  told me to keep an  eye on it.    This answer gave me the impression he'd heard this before

I have a 2016 gmc sierra 1500 and my park assist (rear only) will not stay on. When I push the lever on the dash, the light blinks for a few seconds and then goes out.  I checked a few forums here and one stated disconnect the battery for about 10 minutes. I did that and no fix.  I also removed the hitch from the receiver no luck there either.  it appears that the truck electronics thinks that the trailer is still hooked up when it is not.  This problem occurred only when I returned home and disconnected my trailer. Does anyone have any other advise? I'm not sure I want to go to the dealer and pay a fortune to fix some (hopefully) minor glitch.

Thanks.

I’m having the same issue, if I go into setting and manually turn it off and then back on the LED light comes on for 3 seconds and then goes off. Please advise on how to fix!

All,  Did anyone find a solution to the issue I have quoted above.  I have the exact some problem as Justin Smith.  Headed out on a camping adventure and could use some help if possible.  I have already wiped the sensors clean but still the same issue.   Thanks In Advance Alan?

Continuing on with this discussion. I have a 2018 Sierra 2500HD and the parking assist stopped working last weekend. I had the radio replaced 4 weeks ago and both front and back sensors was working fine until recently. I checked the fuses (#29 on the left inside fuse box and #27 in the right inside fuse box) and they're both looking ok. Heading to the dealership on Monday to have them look. Hopefully it has nothing to do with the radio install but we'll see. I may pull the battery cable today and let it sit for 30 min as others have tried.

I'll post when I hear back.

You mention checking the fuses saying they are "looking good".  It would best to check continuity with a meter to be sure they are good.

Thanks Steve. I went to the dealership and they plugged in their "magic wand" and there were no errors. I have a good relationship with the Service Advisor so no charge. He suggested I go back to the radio installer yesterday and after a couple of hours and a call to iDataLink tech support , they suggested I bring back the OEM radio so that they can reinstall, turn the Parking Assist back on, then put my new Kenwood radio and iDataLink Maestro RR2 back in.

My issue now, after all this is done, is to find out why it shut off last weekend and why I'll need to keep the OEM Radio for as long as I have my Kenwood.

I have a 2021 Sierra 1500 AT4.  I've been having rear park assist off issues since day 1.  Initially it was almost every time I trapped the gas the rear park assist would shut off.   Just the rear not front.   Took it in and was told they did an update.   On the way home it happens 5 times.   Went back in and they ordered a module.   Had that replaced and since then it's happened maybe 3 times a week.   Much better than every time I hit the gas but still happening.

Anybody hear anything new on this?

This hasn't happened again since November 2020- had an unrelated service visit and a no start issue. Dealer found problem and repaired electrical fault under warranty.  Coincidentally, no problem since... IDK.  Winter just started. Will see if any problems arise this year.

    • Did you even read this article?   Even the title of the article says "U.S.-Iran Deal Doesn’t Mean a Swift Return of Oil and Gas Flows"   Remember, crude oil prices are based on FUTURE purchases by the oil companies.  Gas prices are based on FUTURE purchases by the station.  This article stated that many of the oil producing nations have to restart their processes to get the oil produced.  Then the oil has to be shipped to wherever.  And it doesn't get there overnight.  And most of that oil is not coming here. Check out this site:  https://afdc.energy.gov/data/10621   A graph will pop up to show where the US imports their oil from.  Notice that there isn't a lot of import from OPEC and Iraq.  Most of the US import comes from Canada. The US oil produces are selling their oil on the open market, which is why the US fuel costs went up.  So you're correct, the US oil companies are going to slow walk the price downward.

    • I just purchased a 2004 Tahoe with 148,******. I used to have a 2006 Suburban that had the push button Auto 4X, 2Hi, 4Hi and 4Lo. When checking out this truck I noticed it had push button but didn’t focus on it. After the purchase when driving home, this is when I noticed it was different and after a little research found out it has the AWD stabilitrak system. I don’t live in an area that requires AWD. I bought the truck to start a new adventure in life with off roading, now that the kids are all grown up. I purchased the truck knowing it didn’t have the G80 rearend but plan on re-gearing to drive on 33s or 35s and upgrade with a rear locker and still be able to tow when needed. Blah Blah Blah Anyway I know am thinking about converting the stabilitrak  to Z71. I know I will have to replace the transfer case. So now the information gathering stage is happening to see if it is worth it. Is the front AWD stabilitrak differential different when compared to a non-AWD front diff? Will I need a completely different front differential or can it be converted? What else should I be considering? I did see something in a video for GMT900 platform with removing the ABS fuse that disables the stabilitrak and turns the truck into a 2 wheel drive. Would that work in the GMT800 platform?
