Chrisk1 Posted December 7, 2018 Posted December 7, 2018 2016 Silverado LTZ Duramax with 24K miles. Getting ready to do the first oil change on my dime and was wondering what is the best oil filter to use. Dealer recommends the A/C Delco but if there is something better, it would only make sense to use. Next question is regarding the CP4 pump. Read some articles about how "bad" the CP4 pump is and I was wondering if this is/could be a serious issue. My motor is stock and I have quite a bit of powertrain warranty left so a delete is not in my immediate future. I have seen companies that sell a CP3 pump that can be installed (which is supposed to be better) but is this something to consider. I have been using an additive (Optilube) and have heard of others using 2 Stroke oil added to the fuel to help lubricate the CP4 pump. Short of a full delete, what are my options to address the CP4 issue - or is it even an issue to be concerned with? Thanks.
avalonandl Posted December 8, 2018 Posted December 8, 2018 AC Delco or Wix filter. CP4- keep using good fuel, go to the same stations and keep fuel level at over 1/4. I have an extended warranty so I plan on keeping things stock.
