Homemade GTO commercial

I think it's got teh basis for being a good commercial. Some of the pictures would need to be sped up to give the feel of the commercial "action". KInda that strobe effect. Probably speed up the begining and then have the "magic carpet ride" chorus sung over the Pontiac "Fuel for the Soul" tagline and quickly flash the rest as the music fades.

But that's just my take, I'm not one of them right hemisphere creative types. :flag:

Nissan has used 'Tom Sawyer' by Rush as well as a few others, so does that mean those cannot be used again?

Chevrolet has used 'Fire' by Jimi Hendrix for the Camaro, so does that mean it can't be used again?

Oldsmobile has used Fat Boy Slim's 'Right Here, Right Now' so that can't be used again?

And of course Chevy uses Bob Seger's 'Like A Rock'...well, that may be hard to use again. :chevy:

Kinda see my point?

Two people I forwarded that URL to told me they saw that on the Pontiac webpage a while back - I'm thinking that guy lifted it :chevy:

So no two people can have the same creative idea? Unless that first person patents it, you can do as you wish as long as it isn't absolutely identical.

And I think he posted that he took bits from the actual Pontiac one for it. Since I never saw the Pontiac version, I don't know which.

Ok, if you go to Pontiac.com, go to the GTO section (of course) then at the bottom it has a link to "Take it for a spin"

Click that and it takes some fo the main footage he had in his commercial. He changed the begining, some of the timing, added Pontiac's "Fuel for the Soul" tagline and of course changed it to better music.

So it is NOT the same as the Pontiac version and he didn't "lift" it from them, just improved it.

d**n, I didn't claim lifting it was a crime, just that he downloaded it from GM.

It is still cool as hell though :chevy::jester:
