Chrome Mirror Inserts, anyone changed to painted?

I have an '02 HD SLT that has the chrome mirrors and also have a Tahoe that has the painted mirrors. Is there any way to get just the inserts on the mirrors from GM already painted or does the whole mirror have to be replaced? Not looking to paint the chrome ones, but if they pop off somehow and I can just get replacements I'd want to swap them for painted ones. Thanks!
