2015 A/C condenser issue

I've heard from two sources that a design flaw is causing the A/C condensers to leak.  A GMC master tech indicated that this will not be a  recall since it is not a safety issue and it is not covered under warranty. GMC is aware of the issue and sometimes in these situations they will issue a Customer Appreciation award to compensate for the cost of the repair. I had mine replaced at an independent shop so I may not receive an alert if an award is released. Does anyone know how to look out for these Customer Appreciation awards?

Not sure about an award, but mine was fixed under my 3/36 warranty and gm extended my warranty on it to 5/60 because they knew it would just happen again till a new version of the condenser came out.

I just did this job on my 2014.  Purchased an improved design condenser from Performance Radiator which comes with a lifetime warranty for $125.  Did the work myself and rented a vacuum pump from Oreillys and also got synthetic refrigerant there.  About $225 out of pocket and 3.5 hours labor.
