To Rancho or not to Rancho

Can anyone give me some information on changing out the OEM shocks on my 2002 2500HD 4x4. I was thinking about putting some Rancho 9000 series on and I'm not real concerned about in the cab controls. Has anyone swapped out to the Ranchos, and is there a big difernce in the ride afterwards.

I've had RS9000s on my '02 2500HD CC for about a month and really like the controlled ride they give. They are smoother than stock and can be adjusted for load, driving style and personal preference. I have mine set at 5 front and 3 rear for regular use and adjust the rear ones higher when towing or carrying a heavy load in the bed.

 

The installation is a simple one -- about an hour total to remove the 4 old shocks and to install the 4 new shocks.

I've had them on my truck for over a year. They were also on my previous 2 trucks, which I had for about 8 years total. All told, I've amassed close to 250,000 on trucks using Rancho 9000's. And do you know what? My next truck will have them to.

Do they eliminate the "pogo" that happens along certain stretches of roadway?

Depends upon a number of factors, but I found it calmed down the ride on my truck pretty noticeably. Now, if your "pogo" is from tbars that are cranked too high then no, it won't help there (and that's the primary reason I went with the green keys, to get rid of that pogo affect).

They aren't cranked very far, and it did it before I cranked them. I think the Pro-tec bed (lighter than a steel bed) exacerbates the problem as well. If I drop 150 lbs in the back, it rides like a caddy. But that would probably hold true for any truck

 

I'm kinda leaning towards some Velvet Ride Shackles...But have yet to make up my mind.
