Just changed intake gaskets, timing cover gaskets, and oil pan gaskets.  Started right up and was running perfect it seems like.  Hooked the computer to it to get it within +2/-2 deg, the computer will not pick up crank sensor now. Any thoughts?

Alright, I found the culprit.  I didnt have the sensor seated completely. Now its throwing p1345 and p0335 I believe and wont start.  Will it ever end! I am guessing it has to do with distributor being out a hair? Any suggestions is welcomed.

How many miles on the truck?

With enough mileage, it 's not unusual for the crank main bearings to become a bit worn and the end of the crankshaft to wander a bit.

When I installed a new timing cover on mine recently and pulled the CKP sensor out, the reluctor had taken a small divot out of the face of the sensor.  Didn't ever have a CEL light or throw a code.  But with the new cover I immediately throw the P1345 code using the old sensor.  I had a brand new AC Delco sensor, plus the original sensor that came in the truck.  Both of those threw a code too.

Long story short, I ended up shimming the new sensor out .030" and cured the code.  They make shims just for that purpose.  RockAuto has the composite shims,  EFI Connections has a steel shim kit.
