A/C Noisy

My 2003 Silverado A/C makes a swishing noise, particularly when the fan is on low speeds. Sounds like the coolant is cycling. I no it is not the fan because when I turn the A/C off it goes away.

I took the truck into the dealer. They said there is nothing they can do about it. They contacted GMC and they told the dealer that due to a change in the late 2002 and 2003 models A/C this was common.

My brother-in-law purchased a 2004 Silverado and I Can barely hear it if I listen carefully. My Sons 2000 Silverado has no a/c noise at all.

Has anybody else had this or knows anything else different?

My A/C does cool the truck down nicely.

It is normal. You just have a quiet truck. All the late model trucks are picking up the inner sounds of the accessories.
