Removing Stepside Bed?

Recommended Posts

I have to replace the fuel pump on my truck and you guys suggest taking the bed off to do it. Since I have a stepside, is there anything different besides the 4 bolts and electrical??

I don't have, nor have I ever had a stepside, but I would imagine that there is nothing different than a fleetside bed. Beside the bolts holding the bed on, you'll probably have a grounding strap somewhere, the fuel filler hose, the rear differential vent hose, and your harnesses to your tailgights. There may be a couple more things, but I don't know for sure.

Good luck.

Pretty straight forward really I think there are more than 4 bolts though. I think there are 6 on a short-bed. Be sure to take your gas filler neck loose from the bed too.
