2019 GMC Sierra RPM jumps while braking

I don't know if this is an issue or not and wondering if anyone else has noticed this.  When I am braking towards a full stop, the RPM steadily goes down to about 900 RPM.  With the brake applied, the RPM will jump up 1,100 RPM.  Then as I get closer to the full stop, the jump up in RPM happens again....maybe from 800 to 1,000.  Sometimes I have to step harder on the brake to overcome the jump in RPM.  I have never noticed this with any other vehicle I have owned.

I also noticed that when driving steady at 35mph, the RPM is about 1,500 and when driving at 55mph, the RPM is about 1,400.  Seems there should be a shift somewhere between those speeds.

Appreciate any input.
