Key Fob for 2005 GMC Sierra

The driver side door power button is not in working condition, Can I purchase a key fob and program it without the driver side power lock button ?

No, they don't sell them like that.

 

All key fobs come with just a lock/unlock button and it's going to unlock/lock the doors when you press it.

 

If the drivers door lock switch on the inside is not working, you should diagnose the problem and repair what is needed.

He's talking about programming the new fob to work with the vehicle, which IIRC, includes pressing the lock/unlock buttons as part of putting the truck in fob-learning mode.

 

And yes, I believe he needs to get the lock/unlock switch working to be able to link the fob to his truck.
