I have a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 5.3 v8. With 4x4 issues.

Hello there. Ok I have a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 5.3 v8. With 4x4 issues. 

When I try to switch it out from auto 4 wheel to 2 wheel, 4x4 high or low it blinks but will not switch. You can hear the motor for the actuator what seems to be running trying to engage but will not. If you hold one of the button's down it keeps blinking and trying to do something, but if you let off it and it stops blinking it stops working light stays in auto 4x4 and pressing other buttons dont work anymore until you turn ignition off and back on. Can someone please help me? Thank you!

the most common issue in those years was the switch , replace it

I had a 05 that did that change out the actuator on the transfer case.
