Radio and OnStar 06 2500HD

Hey guys, first post.  I hope this is the right forum.  If not, sorry for that.

 

I know this has probably been asked a ton here, but here goes:

 

I lucked into a new-to-me '06 2500HD Duramax, lots of extras, good mileage and has been well taken care of.  I intend to swap the radio out for an aftermarket so I can get my bluetooth going.  I've tried to read up as much as I could on this, but what's the consensus on this setup:

- Aftermarket touchscreen radio

- Interface properly with the Bose system already present

- Retain steering wheel controls

- replace OnStar controls with bluetooth

 

Looking for a solid recommendation on what product will take care of the last 2 pieces.  I see a few different items out there, I've tried to do my reading before posting and I'm aware of the pitfalls of the Scoche products, etc.  Since it's an older model, is BlueStar still a good way to go for this?  It's the last piece of the puzzle before I pull the trigger on ordering everything.  Thanks in advance for any advice.

PAC audio has a steering wheel control device(device, aparatus etc.  that can be configured to what ever vehicle and head unit etc, 

same company also offers a radio replacement wiring adaptor install kit
i think it has an option to include or it comes with the steering wheel control kit,  

Metra also offers the same. 
the steering wheel control kit seperatly isnt that expensive,  (under 20 on amazon)  

the radio wiring harness adaptor is the pricey item,   and both PAC and Metra  are the same price,  which is around $130.00) 

isimple makes some adaptors as well.   

if  asking for H/u suggestions,  Personally recommend Kenwood Excelon line.

im in process of shopping around researching etc  about what route to go regarding the stereo system ( The LLY has the bose system with the aplillar tweets and the console sub,   etc.  and if i want to go the replace headunit, route,  or do one of these modifications that utilize the XM radIO Input  with adding in a bluetooth function and an aux jack etc,   and then maybe a bose amp from the denali or escalade swap.
