sizing tires for my project 1988 chev c2500

So i picked up a nice little project however the guy had a mash of different tires sizes set on the rims, ranging from 225-265 and different profiles.. was an interesting drive home.. anyways I came across a nice set of 265/70R17 and am having a bit of rubbing on a full turn.. could I benefit from a 1-1.5” hubcentric wheel spacer? Can I wait a month when I have the spare cash if I drive carefully? Thanks

Depending how it is rubbing a spacer will likely just make it worse than it is already as you are increasing the swing radius...
