i have dunlop RV's in the 255/85. so far so good...they are a million times better than the stock tires when it coems to snow. i don't do much driving, so I can't tell you much about treadwear.

I'm looking at getting the Cooper ST's. They have had a good review from what I read online. Not to many other options for all terrains, most in that size are mudder tires and I don't do any off roading in the sense that would justify mudders. I like the fact of the extra inch in diameter but no rubbing.

I figure I will be needing tires in a few months. Got 41k on the stock Firestones and they are getting down to the wear indicators.

I have the Cooper LTs in 255/85 on mine. I just put them on, so I can't comment on traction or wear. The guy at the tire shop told me these were the same as the old STs.

I do have a very slight rub on the driver's side when I fully crank the steering to the left. It hasn't been a real issue, just a little nuisance when I'm maneuvering in tight situations. I'm not too worried about it since I'm driving pretty slow in those circumstances anyway. It's not rubbing on the airdam, but on the rear inside of the wheel well. I'm thinking about cranking the T-bars a little to get rid of it.

I had these tires on my Dmax for 14,000 miles. They seemed to wear okay and are a good cheap tire.Only negative I can think of is they are horrible in even the smallest amount of mud.I got stuck in my yard in maybe 4 inches of mud,it was like grease. The truck would'nt move in 4 hi or low.I had to yank it out with my other truck.I took them off for a michelin 265/75/16 because I got tired of the harsh ride from the fully cranked t-bars.You will have to do some trimming on a HD and crank the t-bars all the way up for them to clear without rubbing.

I've got 255/85/16 Dunlop Radial Mud Rovers on my 2001 2500HD. I've cranked the torsion bars about 5 times. I get some slight rubbing on the drivers side fenderwell when backing up. So far I've got 10k miles and look as if I'll get another 10k. Check the link in my signature for pictures.

I've got about 400 miles on my LT255/85R16 Widetrack Radial Baja tires on my stock wheels. I had to trim a bit off of the front bumper on both sides, and rivet my mud flaps a little more securely to the fender. Only cranked the bars a couple of turns.

They're not E rated tires, but they're D's. I don't think I'll haul enough weight to make a big difference.

I cranked the bars up as far as the threads would allow. No problems. I have 285/75/16's on 8" rims. They rubbed on the air dam, so I trimmed it. I used a heat gun to reform the plastic inner fender well, this worked great. All this with the camper on the back and the air bags up at 80lbs. Gross on the scales 9100 lbs. Will 255's fit on 8" rims? Might want to go lower and wider in the summer.

I've got TrXus MT's in 255/85. No rubbing at all, even before I cranked the T-bars to level the truck. Looks much better than the 245's it came with. Only disappointment is I don't think I'll get the milage I was told to expect, but I thought it was an optimistic number anyway.
