Haynes/chilton manual

might be a little early for those manuals.  anyway, I've bought a number of them for my previous vehicles, and come to the realization that most of the pages in them are just generic stuff, with very little vehicle-specific info.  For my current truck, I bought the paper version of the full-service manual, and that's pretty much all I'll get from now on (either the paper version, or if it's not available, an online subscription to it).

The FSM for my truck is 5 volumes, about 1000 pages each, vs the haynes manual of about 200 pages in total, with maybe 1/3 of it actually about my truck.

If you want to diagnose and/or fix your truck, get the FSM.  Haynes manuals are best used to start a fire.

After the FSM, I would say the next most important thing would be a code reader that can get codes from all the computers in your truck.  I don't know what a good choice is for the new trucks now.  I bought Autogenuity w gm enhancement for my truck, it's supposed to be updated continually for new vehicles, but I don't know if/when they support  the latest stuff, and gm has a new setup from the techii's from my generation truck.

It appears that 2018 is the newest that is available for retail.

For 2018, paper $495, USB $349.

If it's like the last set I bought, when available, one set will cover all Silverado/Sierra 15/25/35 versions for the specific year.  It will be multiple volumes, and total 1000's of pages.

Extremely detailed.
