2015 Yukon XL Denali steering column lock

Recommended Posts

Considering purchasing a yukon xl Denali for flat towing behind an rv, which requires the steering being unlocked.  User manual says to disconnect battery, but wondering if anyone has any experience with removing the steering column lock fuse, and will this keep the wheel unlocked?

Just looking to see if anyone has any  experience with flat towing these and what the easiest method is to keep the steering wheel unlocked, ideally not involving disconnecting the battery.

And does anyone know if there is another reason why the manual says to disconnect the battery besides just unlocking the steering?  The manual doesnt exactly say why the battery needs to be disconnected, I would imagine it has to do with the steering lock, but it doesnt say much more than just "that there could be damage to the vehicle if the battery is not disconnected".
