No radio or chime sound 2008 Work Truck base AM/Fm

I have a base truck with no speakers working..:got a replacement radio still no sound...does the base radio need to be programmed?

Not sure on a base radio, but I'm fairly certain the speakers are outputted from the BCM, and not directly from the radio. Not 100% certain on that one. At least the turn signal "click", and the key-in dinger when the door is open are.

 

If the speakers weren't working with the original radio, it's not a programming issue.
