Hello, I’m new to the forum and hoping someone can help!

I have a 1999 GMC Sierra with a blown 4.8 litre.
Bought a 2013 4.8 litre. What modifications/changes do I need to do to make this work?

For one, I noticed there are no knock sensors on the new motor. Please help!

To keep this short, it is not worth your time or money to do this swap.

The 2013 engine is way different than your 1999 engine. The newer engine has VVT for one and the crank/cam sensor trigger is completely different. The newer engine is a 58/4x and the older engine is a 24/1x trigger. The knock sensors on the newer engine are located down by the oil pan and not in the valley plate like the older engines.

It would cost too much money to swap parts to make it work.

Sell the 2013 engine and find a 1999-2007 GEN 3 engine that is a direct swap.
