Tom if the factory cassette and cd will fit my 97 ill take em

Does the stereo have scv controls?

Im guessing that the cd is the one that was in the console on yours ? will it fit in the pocket in mine under the main stereo ?

Pics of both would be appreciated as well as p/n s

I'm not positive if they will fit, but I think they might. Maybe someone else can confirm. I'll have a couple pics up soon, maybe you can tell by looking at them.

The cd player did go in the front part of the center floor console and it does have the SCV. Not sure if any computer programming is required for it to work, or if it just automaticly works when it's installed. You can see the CD player and a little of the head unit in the dash HERE

The harness runs from the back of the CD to the back of the head unit.

Ask in the light duty forum to see if anyone has done that and see if they had any problems.

I think these are the P/n's. They are listed on the decals as Model Number.

CD - 16240075

Headunit/Cassette - 16240035

I couldn't find anything on the harness.

Tom if yours is gone, may I jump in? I have the same head unit, brand new take out. $30 well-packed and shipped. It still has the plastic on the readout lens. I'm trying to clean house...I come across more everyday. Having had 7 of the last gen truck...there are bits and pieces everywhere. :uhoh:

Tom,

I may be interested in the vinyl floor mats. Are they for a new body style Silverado? Do you have pictures?

Thanks,

B.J.

Rippem, I don't mind at all. :uhoh:

BJ, They are the ones that came in my '99. They are pretty dusty from sitting in my shed, so I'll clean them up this afternoon and get a pic of them.

firecadet, I don't think the newer style head units will fit the previous model style Blazers/S-10 trucks. I've been wrong before though.

firecadet613, I'm betting it's a plug in, slide in and play swap, but you need to know for sure...or chance it for $30. I'm gonna say what alot of us think...without the computer involvement of the '03 (chimes ect) I think prior years that appear the same will swap, and even some that don't look alike. It's a money thing...same or like same head units across the line(s) for years at a time, cheap to buy for GM and easy to install 'cause the harnesses at the plug are no doubt "standardized" for all variations of upgrade...again labor/time assembly savings. IMO :uhoh:

I dont know for sure rippem .

The dealer highly advised me not to do this swap im going to attempt to do in a week or two with toms stuff .

I think they didnt want me to do it because it didnt involve $$$ for them :uhoh:
