I might have fouled up your poll because I listed the Die Hard as my choice. I still have the stock battery in my 2003 2500 HD. I did buy a Sears Die Hard for my last truck which was a 95 1500 Silverado. I also have a Sears RV batteery in my Travel trailer. They seem to last a long time and have never failed me.

Always liked Optima, and have several. I have only had one die on me, and I must have ran that thing empty at least 437 times. :rolleyes:

Ryan;

( I know...long time no see...new job, less time)

I have the 2nd AC/Delco I paid $0.00 for the second one.

The first one started leaking acid on my driveway at about 12mos of age.

(Same thing happened to my buddy's truck).

GM replaced em under warranty.

Oddly enough...the leaky battery still worked fine.

I suppose that where I happen to be sitting when the battery croaks will have more to do with what battery I put in there than anything else.

I've used AC Delco batteries since 1995, long before I bought the GMC. I bought a brand new 1990 Toy 4Runner that came, free of charge, with an "old fashioned" battery and a grossly overcharging alternator.

Toy dealer refused to do anything about it. Acid would squirt out the fill caps! Had to always rinse off the battery tray or it would have rotted away. That battery only lasted a year. The Toy dealer then put in an Interstate battery and that lasted 6 months.

Of course, the charging system was fine, no problems!

This went on until 1995 when a Chevy buddy mentioned that the diesel truck battery would probably fit my 4Runner. I put in a Delco 78DT-84 and it worked fine. To be sure, the case bulged a bit, but the starter had WAY more oomph. It was working fine in 2000 when I traded.

My 1992 Honda Prelude also had an "old fashioned" battery with fill caps. No grossly overcharging alternator, but temps colder than -20 F and you were lucky if the car started when parked outside. In 1995, after the good luck with my 4Runner Delco battery, I put a Delco battery in the Prelude. Also worked very well, and was working fine when I traded in 2000 for the GMC.

Mine says Interstate, but it is a rebadged Optima red top that is 4 1/2 years old and in the second vehicle with out any problems.

Also I don't miss the seeping acid and corroded trays. :devil:

I'm amazed with all the optima folks on here. Optima Batteries here in Denver happens to be one of the customers my company services so I go there every couple of months to work on one of the systems near the assembly/manufacturing area. I'm most likely going to be replacing my stock AC/Delco battery here within the next few weeks, and I am thinking I will go with either a Diehard, or Optima.
