Painting Chrome?

I'm just curious if anyone can help with ideas on if it's possible or how to go about painting the chrome on bumpers and side mirrors? I want to black it out. Thanks!

You'll have to sand them down real good then use an adhesion promoter then an etching primer.

On my Tahoe, I replaced the front bumper with a smooth paint-to-match one and the grill too, but on the rear bumper I had it painted over the chrome. It has worked great so far, no peeling or chipping yet. I'm not sure what the guy did, but it is sticking.
