Static and white noise from stereo

Bought a 2006 Silverado 1500hd and the stereo didn’t work. Just replaced it with a basic deck. It turns on and everything works but when it is in any mode other than standby, there is a static-y white noise sound in the background. I don’t have a sub so there is nothing in the rca jacks. Ground wires are connected properly. I confirmed it is not the unit itself by trying it in another vehicle and there was no static. Truck has the Bose speakers and they work well. What else could it be?

might need a head unit that is for the bose speakers...
