I'm at a lose here...

I never noticed anything odd until it got this bad. The hood isn't sitting flush anymore on the passenger side closest to the windshield. I thought it may have been the coil hinge but when I took that out the hood didn't drop. With the hinge in place, it pushed it up and created a dent from the underside. The hinge still appears just like the other side & under tension evenly. It's almost as if the connection bracket was bent up from the inside.

What can cause this?  Is there an easy fix?

Thanks all.

It kinda looks like the hood was closed with some object in the way where it's buckled up.  Has it been anywhere for service recently?  Even if it has, since you didn't spot it while you were there, it's going to be very difficult to get them to accept responsibility.

I haven't had it in anywhere in quite some time, so it can't be something like that.

Is there any way I can push or squeeze the end down to sit flush?

I'm trying to figure out basically any way to keep from taking it in....

Thanks

Unless you know how to do body and paint work, your going to have to get it fixed professionally.  Your hood is bent and buckled.  Even a good shop may recommend a new hood.

I know the old square body trucks had that exact issue. Over time, even closing the hood normally would cause the hood to fail right at the end of the bracket like that. Is that also a known issue with the NNBS trucks?
