Silverado 1500 LT OEM radio upgrade

Hello all...new to the forum and hoping someone here can answer a quick question:

I installed a Sony system in my truck about 3 years ago and was never quite happy with it and I haven't been able to find anything aftermarket that utilizes the steering wheel controls. I was thinking that I could get the OEM radio from an LTZ model and put it in my LT model. Does anyone know if this is possible? If not, anyone know other options? I would like to get the steering wheel functions back without using an aftermarket device because the one I have now (i-Maestro) is crap. Sometimes it works, sometimes not, and then sometimes it reverses my buttons, then randomly switches back. Thanks!

Talk to the folks at Crutchfield.com.  They should be able to help you.  It's very possible that all you need is a steering wheel control adapter module.  But if your deck won't accept any outside control, they can help you there as well.
