Will a map sensor cause your engine light to come on and throw code p0300

Maybe, maybe not.

 

If there isn't a code for the MAP sensor I wouldn't start there for that being the specific problem just yet.

 

Many things could cause the P0300 code. Be it a bad spark plug, bad plug wires, bad injector, failed lifter on the AFM/DoD system.

 

You need to hook it up to a scanner to read what cylinders are misfiring and figure out the cause from there.
