My 2015 reg cab long bed has a fixed rear window that I want to remove so I can install an accordion boot to connect up with the cap.  I'm either not performing the search correctly or there's simply no one who has posted this.  If you have any info to share, I'd appreciate it. thanks

Thanks for the reply.  I finally removed and installed a pass thru to the cap.

Before and after pictures attached.

Excuse the long delay in replying.

Hello from the island of Phuket in SW Thailand.

Your post regarding the removal of the fixed glass window in the cab of your truck and the forward facing window of the Canopy, is this first I’ve seen.

I have just purchased a Toyota PreRunner Space Cab (I think they call them Tacoma’s in the USA) with the intent of joining the front and the back, so that my 2 Golden Retrievers won’t feel locked in the back canopy.

I’m planning to initially remove the windows and cover the sharp steel edges of the cab & canopy with a Teak Window / Door “Frame”. A heavy duty rubber gasket will be used to seal the gap (360 deg) keeping out the rainwater and exhaust fumes.

The Canopy will be lined with Marine Grade Closed Cell Foam insulation and covered over with a Teak headliner, much like you would find on a yacht/sailboat. A wood plank floor and side benches will also be constructed.

Here in Thailand they also offer Ceiling mounted Air-Conditioning Units for the rear canopy.

I would be very interested in hearing from you and how the project worked out for you.

Hello:  Worked fine enough.  It would work fine for my dogs.  The picture below shows the added flange (flat stock aluminum) used to meet the lower edge of the cab's flange.  That worked fine.  The bed cap needed one 1" tubing removed and then cut to form the top half that would match the cab flange.    I wasn't expecting anything aesthetically pleasing on the inside. I used the plywood along with a hinged door (I can't locate that picture) to close off the opening if I should want it quieter in the cab or privacy in the bed (truck bed happens to have a cot to rest on).

It works for me, but it will never be the van I wanted.
