searched around and didnt see anything on this, forgive me if its been asked.

Anyone running the Delvac ATF in a 6L80?

While not explicity Dex VI spec, the viscosities seem pretty comparable to Dexron VI (lower at lower temps, and 1 unit higher at high temps), and in Alisons seems GM approves Dex VI for newer units while Alison requires the TES-295 spec, leads me to believe they are nearly interchangeable.

of everything I have read, no complaints on Delvac, and  one of the best ATFs out there from a service perspective.

i have read of folks running it in the 4L60 and a others in every trans they own with only positive things to say...

thanks

No.  Dexron 6 on 6L80.  If you had a 4L60 that was still on Dexron III you could run this Delvac ATF.

The Mobil Delvac ATF is a Dexron III fluid, which is why it is also an Allison TES 295 spec fluid.  Dexron III = TES 295 Allison.  Allison made changes to seal materials to support GM's use of Dexron 6 in the 2007-2010 timeframe if I recall.

TLDR.  WIll NOT interchange.  Dump anything in your truck that is a Dexron 6 fluid.

Dexron VI is the correct fluid for the 6L80/90E transmission.

Mobil Delvac 1 ATF is not that fluid.

Hence no.

That clear enough?
