Truck but no loads?

Do any of you have a full size HD truck but did not buy it for hauling? I want to get a truck with the new Diesel and Allison 5 speed but have nothing to tow. I would just be driving to work and back but its such a manly truck I gotta have one!

I'm getting a Fullsize V-8 truck sometime and I have nothing  to haul myself, I might get some adult toys though.

definately get a diesel, a large gasser would not be worth it.  i had an f-250 because i wanted a big, cool truck, it had the V10 and in no time i was having to cut back on food and other stuff just to pay for gas.  other than parking, a HD with 6.6 would be fine for daily driving to work

 

btw- i have 3 f-150s in my driveway now and none of them have anything in the bed except one which has a tire and sideview mirror in the bed

Shhh, don't tell JP, but I've got my truck and have nothing to tow.  I think I used my trailer hitch once for towing a trailer full of wood.  But, being able to haul stuff in the bed has come in handy.  Trust me, when you buy a truck you will be hit up by all your family/friends/neighbors/people you hardly know to help them move stuff.

Out of my truck's 14300 miles, about 2500 of them are towing miles.  Mostly recreational stuff like atvs, but I move my utility tractor and other light equipment around with it frequently on shorter trips.   But the inportant thing is that I'd have a 4wd pickup whether I had to tow anything or not!!

That was a happy day-I wanted one of those tractors for a long time.  Weird but I noticed the date on that photo was taken 9/7/01.  Just a few days before 9/11.  Seems like alot longer than just 4 months. ???

Get the truck you want!!!!  No matter what everyone says.  Who cares if your truck could haul 40 tons at a time on stock tires or if you only carry 4 toothpicks in it, it's "YOUR" truck not joe blows so unless he his making the payment on it or puts gas in it or repairs it he can kiss my butt and I'll drive what I want to.  ( As long as the wife says its OK) ;)

Both my wife and I love being able to use the truck when we need it.  It isnt too often that we haul alot of stuff at once but we haved and it has been great to be able to do it on our own schedule not when a friend was available etc....if I can be so rude Hillhound, how much did that wood sided trailer set you back?  I would like to have one....

Welcome to the Forum Joel!  Even though you may not have anything to tow with that truck, you can at least haul.  As in haul azz!  Like no one on this forum doesn't have something they don't need or use!  Please -  :sneek:
