Hello all. I am a new member here. I am 16 years of age and have just bought my first truck. Its a 1966 3/4 ton. The engine has just been rebuilt, the body paint is new, it has new suspension and all. The engine only has about 160 miles on it. I will give you all the details on it. I live in Ireland and the truck is back home in Oregon so I have to wait about 2 months before I get to see it in person. There are a few minor engine and cosmetic problems that need fixin but again I will give details if anyone is interested.

Below are some pics to enjoy.

THanks.

Welcome to the site Ridinghigh.

Nice looking truck.  I always liked the double headlights.

BTW, why are you in Ireland?

I moved to Ireland with my mother and sister (as my mother and father are seperated) to see what it was like. I had no idea what school would be like but I agreed to give a year a try. Well that year is almost over and school is almost out so I have decided to move back with my dad and finish school in America.

As far as the truck goes we plan on relocating the exaust which currently is coming out right under the bed/cab connection point (near the door). I want to extend it out the back so when it rains I can park the truck partly out of the garage and still work on it without having the fumes fill the garage.

I also plan on getting new chrom tires to match the from chrome. I will probably go with a different tire style. Possibly lower. I like a rugged but sporty look. Then ther are minor patches and such to put in.

Well right now I am at work so I better get back to doin it. Talk to you all later. And thanks for the kind welcome.

I do have one questions. It has the original 1966 radio in it. Would you stick in a brand new cd player and all or would you stick with the original. Just a matter of opinion I guess. Just curios :).

Welcome to this forum. You have a really cool looking truck. Where in Ireland are you located? Do you like school there? Ireland is a very progressive technology wise.

First, I LOVE the flames!!

Next, on the radio thing, if you don't want to cut the dash Radio Shack (don't laugh!) has a really good in dash AM/FM cassette with a plug for a portable CD.  I am using it in my Suburban to keep the original dash intact.  It's about ?, if you are interested I'll look up the part number and post it for ya.  Also, you can buy stuff from Custom Auto Sounds that will your stock opening with a CD changer, but it's MUCH more expensive.  Also, you can mount an aftermarket CD player in a semi-custom box under the dash or in the glovebox and get a great sound for decent bucks.

As for Ireland, I'm heading to Scotland and then Norway in a week, looking forward to the experience, but glad to live in the old USA!

Welcome to the Forum!

I live in Co.Cork in Ireland. Thats way in the south just in case you are still confused. I am American, I just been living here. I actually cant stand school here so thats one of the reasons I am moving back. Teachers here have some affection for yelling. Anyways . . .

I was actually thinkinb about doing what you talked about 76BBSub. I'll have to look into it when I get back. I think you'll have a good time in those places but depending on where in the US you live the plane ride can be LOOONG. Its about a 13 hour flight for me :(.

Thanks all for welcoming me to the forum. If you have any more questions shoot away. Im all ears  .

I know whatca mean, I hate airports.  My sister's a flight Attendent (air waitress is what i call her).  She lives in AZ and I thought a 6hour flight was long... sheesh

13 would be ####.  Smokin truck, theirs a 69' chevelle round here with that color yellow.  Bad, Bad car.  Oh your trucks cool to, just the paint reminded me of that car.......*drools*
